Volunteering

Consulting and preparation

We advise you personally! Our Team has over 10 years of experience and knows the projects first hand. During an individual consultation our Team will put together your personal program according to your interests and the seasonal conditions in Costa Rica.

Projects

We have ecological and social projects all over Costa Rica: Caribbean coast, Pacific and Highlands! With ecological projects you can support the protection of species such as sea turtles, wild cats, parrots… for nature conservation in national parks and for sustainability in our agricultural projects! Social volunteer work is primarily aimed at children, so your places of work are kindergartens, primary schools, children’s homes and also workshops for the disabled. – You can combine both project areas and discover the great diversity of Costa Rica!

Program start and duration

You are free to choose the starting date of your volunteer work in Costa Rica and you can also decide the duration yourself! (at least 2 weeks)

Arrival and orientation

Our arrivals are always scheduled on Thursday. At the airport our shuttle will be waiting to take you to your first accommodation. With our CAS-Basic package we offer you an online orientation in advance, on site you organize your accommodation yourself and can explore the city a bit on your own – of course we are available for any questions. The Plus package includes the first two nights in a hostel or host family, and we will also hold an orientation meeting for you on Friday, where we will make a small tour of the city together with you and have a lunch as part of the tour! We will also get you a SIM cards so that you can be mobile right away.

How to get to the projects

From San José you can take the public bus. You will receive a detailed plan with the departure places and times.

Accommodation and meals

With ecological projects you live with other volunteers in a kind of camp directly in the project – these are simple houses with a dormitory, often bunk beds, mosquito nets… – there you get all three meals!

In the Caribbean we have ecological and social projects – there you stay in small, well-kept hostels. There are dormitories for up to 10 people, but also single and double rooms. You can cook with other volunteers in a communal kitchen!

For social projects in the so-called Valle Central, also called „Valley of Eternal Spring“, you live with a host family and get all meals!

Our englis-speaking support team is always there for you! By telephone and emergency mobile phone (24/7) we are available at any time and accompany you during your entire stay. In the projects you have local Spanish and English speaking contact persons.partner.

Spanish courses

Our partner language schools are located in different parts of the country. Combine your volunteer work with a Spanish course at the beginning, so you have the best preparation for your tasks!
